Week #12 Glogster
Gloster is an amazing website for students to use in the classroom and can be used to present content or assess student learning. Glogster is an online tool that allows students to create interactive online posters, complete with text, images, audio, graphics, and videos. On the instructor side of using Glogster, it can be implemented in classrooms by presenting lessons complete with links to outside resources, in addition to using video and audio related to the content area.
Some educational benefits of using Glogster includes:
1) Addressing written, listening, and speaking skills
2) A way of using an engaging and expressive format
3) Fostering visual literacy skills
4) Providing learning opportunities through creative and artistic learning
5) Integrates ICTs with the curriculum
6) Allow students to express creative individuality using sounds, text,and images
7) Great for distance learning.
8) Teacher can control learning space.
9) Ideal for collaboration and differentiation learning
10) Safe digital environment.
After exploring Glogster I was amazed at how students could use this tool in classrooms that can be related to the lesson and curriculum. I would use Glogster in my classroom while using a think-aloud approach to provide an opportunity for students to develop critical thinking ans reading skills and the ability to evaluate each other responses and text online using this tool and provide students to write text for authentic purposes.
